Things you can’t miss on Day One: OSA PV conference

Now we are on business here in Canberra. After a few thunderstorms last night, today’s weather is sunny and warm. It is perfect for the Conference!
There are many things going on today. But a few things you cannot miss.
At 8:30 am Professor Ian Young, the Vice-Chancellor and President of the Australian National University will give the opening remark. Professor Young was the former Vice-Chancellor of Swinburne University of Technology, where he helped the establishment of the nanophotonics solar research. He always has some original ideas about solar research, which are worthwhile listening.
The first Keynote Speaker is Professor Martin Green from University of New South Wales. He will talk about one of the hottest topics in the current solar research on silicon/perovskite tandem cells. While the whole world is crazy about the perovskite solar cells but having the headaches of dealing with their stability and scalability, it is a good idea to listen to the insights from a solar cell expert like Professor Green.
There are three invited talks that I won’t miss are Black Silicon Photovoltaics at 11am in MCC-T5, Transparent White Organic Light-emitting Diodes at 12pm in MCC-T6 and Efficient Full Color and White Quantum Dot LEDs at 3pm in MCC-T6.
The reception is on at 6:30pm. This is a very good opportunity to network with people and advertise your talk if you are not presenting on day one.
