Make Your Voice Heard in Washington

Tired of feeling like legislators don’t appreciate the value of science and technology? Worried about what the looming budget fights and continued cuts to science will mean for your future grant opportunities? Wishing you could sit down one-on-one with policy makers and talk to them about the importance of federal investments in R&D and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education?

Well, you are in luck, because OSA has the perfect opportunity for you to come to Washington, DC and make your voice heard!

On 12 and 13 March, OSA will be joining the Science, Engineering, and Technology Working Group for the annual Congressional Visits Day (CVD) to arrange meetings between OSA members and U.S. senators and representatives.  No previous experience is necessary and training will be provided.

These meetings give the scientific community a voice in the halls of Congress—calling on elected officials to recognize the importance of science and technology and continue to support research and education initiatives. OSA organizes all aspects of the visits, from scheduling individual appointments to providing participants with training, detailed background information and talking points.
