Advanced solid-state laser instrumentation advances the frontiers of frequency comb techniques, including dual-comb spectroscopy. Integrated photonics holds much promise for a gas-phase dual-comb spectrometer on a photonic chip.

Dual Frequency-Comb Spectroscopy With Cr:ZnS Lasers (ATu3A.2)

We report dual-comb spectroscopy experiments with stabilized combs based on Kerr-lens mode-locked Cr:ZnS lasers. The compact dual-comb setup features >3W power per each channel, 80-MHz comb-mode spacing, and 60-THz-wide band centered at 2.4 μm.

High-Power SESAM-Modelocked Ho:YAG Laser at 2090 nm (ATu3A.3)

We demonstrate a SESAM, soliton-modelocked, Ho:YAG thin-disk oscillator with more than 40 W of average power, 1.66-ps pulses at energy of 0.78 µJ, representing the highest average power so far demonstrated from a 2-µm oscillator.

Ultrashort Pulse Generation From Kerr-Lens Mode-Locked Tm-Doped Sesquioxide Lasers at 2.1 µm. (ATu3A.4)

We report sub-100-fs pulse generation at 2.1 μm from Kerr-lens mode-locked lasers using Tm:Lu2O3 ceramic and Tm:Sc2O3 single crystal single gain media as well as a combined gain media laser using these two materials simultaneously.

2-GHz High-Power Kerr-Lens Mode-Locked Yb:KGW Laser (ATu3A.5)

We present a 2-GHz high-power Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:KGW laser, 1.7-W average power with 145-fs pulse duration and ~740-mW average power with ~120 fs pulse duration was achieved in unidirectional and bidirectional operation, respectively.

All-PM Divided Pulse Fiber Oscillator Mode-Locked With Optical Kerr-Effect (ATu3A.6)

A Kerr-type mode-locked PM fiber oscillator is demonstrated that utilizes divided pulse bursts to avoid excessive nonlinearities in the fiber segment. Experimental results with one division in the cavity show a 17.5-dB increased output power.
