Ericsson's Mischa Dohler to headline Optica Executive Forum
Optical networking and communications leaders convene in San Diego to discuss technology advancements and business opportunities
WASHINGTON – Optica's Executive Forum, a one-day event at OFC for C-suite level executives in optical networking and communications, will feature Mischa Dohler as its keynote speaker. The in-person event will be held 06 March 2023 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, CA.
Mischa Dohler is the VP of Emerging Technologies at Ericsson Inc. His research focuses on cutting-edge topics of 6G, Metaverse, XR, Quantum, and Blockchain. He serves on the Technical Advisory Committee of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and on the Spectrum Advisory Board of the UK’s Ofcom.
Before joining Ericsson, Dohler taught Wireless Communications at King's College London and led the Centre for Telecommunications Research where he was responsible for driving cross-disciplinary research and innovation in technology, sciences, and arts. He is the co-founder and former CTO of the IoT-pioneering company Worldsensing, co-founder and former CTO of the AI-driven satellite company Sirius Insight, and co-founder of the sustainability company Movingbeans. He also worked as a Senior Researcher at Orange/France Telecom.
Dohler is a Fellow of the IEEE, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET); and a distinguished member of Harvard Square Leaders Excellence. In his keynote address, Dohler will discuss what technology enablers need to be implemented to ensure the birth of the next-generation internet, which we hope will be much more immersive than today's internet. He will discuss XR device roadmaps and how they are mapped to the 5G/6G timelines. In addition, Dohler will share how these will enable fully immersive experiences for businesses and consumers alike.

In addition to the keynote speaker, attendees will hear from four-panel discussions and a business fireside chat. Panel speakers include executives from Google, Meta, Infinera, BT, and FiberSense. Attendees will learn about the technology advancements and business opportunities that will shape their companies' networks.
The Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) takes place 05 -09 March 2023 at the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA. For over 45 years, OFC has been the premier international event for the latest advances in optical communications and networking. This year's conference will be a hybrid format with in-person and virtual components to meet the unique needs of a global audience.
The five-day technical conference features peer-reviewed presentations in 100+ sessions and more than 120 invited industry speakers presenting emerging technologies' highlights. Additional specialized programming throughout the week includes special symposia, special sessions, in-depth tutorials, workshops, panels, and the thought-provoking rump session.
