Noctiluca representatives join prestigious Optica organization

Torun, Poland, 11.10.2022 – Representatives of Noctiluca SA, a technology company developing proprietary compounds in the field of photonics, have joined the prestigious global cluster for the photonics sector - the Optica organization. Its main goal is to promote cooperation between participants in the photonics and optics sectors. Currently, the market for technology based on the science of light is worth $500 billion. The membership will enable the Company to establish further business partnerships, and will also provide an opportunity to promote Poland's achievements in photonics in Europe and around the world.

Since its debut on the NewConnect market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Noctiluca has not slowed down. As part of its current operations, its priority remains the development of proprietary 3rd and 4th generation emitters for OLED displays and their commercialization. At the same time, the company is developing a second revenue leg, as it declared to investors at the recent Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.

Noctiluca signed a framework agreement at the time to supply compounds to Inuru, a German company that makes ultra-thin OLED displays that respond to touch or sound. It also finalized a distribution agreement with Filgen, a supplier of equipment, reagents and high-performance materials to more than 70 partners in Japan. In addition, it has begun working with Switzerland's largest global watch manufacturing group to develop OLED technology for smartwatch applications, and continues to develop its technology by, among other things, supplying its compounds for testing to LG Display, the largest US-based consumer electronics manufacturer, and companies in Taiwan's electronics industry. Currently, the Company is continuing its efforts to attract more distributors, partners and customers. One of these is membership in the Optica organization.

"We rely on industry partnerships that allow us to expand our network of business contacts, but also provide real support in the development of our business. In addition to our proprietary OLED emitter solutions, we now have nearly 200 patent-free compounds that we are able to supply on a contract synthesis basis. Optica provides us not only with access to a huge business and scientific network from all over the world, but also access to knowledge, events and the opportunity to promote Polish scientific achievements," - comments Mateusz Nowak, Business Development Director, Noctiluca.

Optica (Advancing Optics and Photonics Worldwide; formerly OSA), is an organization that supports the generation, application, archiving and dissemination of knowledge in optics and photonics. The organization was founded in 1916 and now brings together scientists, engineers, business representatives, students and those interested in the science of light.

"The activities initiated by our organization drive discovery, shape real-world applications and accelerate the commercialization of cutting-edge photonics solutions. I've known Noctiluca almost since its foundation and have watched its dynamic growth, so even before joining Optica, we identified at least 4 partners - current members of our organization - who might be interested in the products offered by the Company. And this is certainly just the beginning - Optica currently has more than 24000 individual members and 350 corporate members."  says Jose Poso, CTO at Optica.

Noctiluca

Noctiluca (New Materials) - a Polish technology company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (NewConnect market). The company develops proprietary, advanced compounds in the area of photonics, which are used by manufacturers of displays and OLED panels. Noctiluca develops and manufactures new, third- and fourth-generation OLED emitters, i.e. those exhibiting TADF (Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence) and Hyperfluorescence properties, which are a key component of displays (monitors, TVs, smartphones, wearables or VR devices) and light sources (e.g. lighting). In recent months, the Company has significantly developed its technology - it has its own R&D department in Korea, has strengthened cooperation with major research institutes from Germany (KIT and FEP) and has started a project with ITRI i.e. the most important high-tech and industrial development agency in Taiwan.

In terms of developing commercial potential, in the past year the Company has established relationships with dozens of industry players, and signed a number of agreements, including an MTA with LG Display and a Japanese chemical conglomerate, and completed a joint development project (PoC) with a European OLED panel manufacturer. It also launched a partnership with the largest global watch manufacturing group from Switzerland to develop OLED technology for smartwatch applications, and signed an NDA and began negotiating an advanced stage MTA with the world's largest consumer electronics manufacturer from the US.
