MEETOPTICS incorporates photodetectors to its Global Optics & Photonics search
Photodetectors is the fifth product line MEETOPTICS launches after having incorporated Optics, Light Sources, Optomechanics and Fiber Optics. This news also means more suppliers onboard, a total number of 47 optics and photonics manufacturers, including but not limited to Imagine Optic, SVS-Vistek, Photek, Photonics Science, Lambert, Scintacor or Phasics.
Thanks to cameras and wavefront sensors incorporation, MEETOPTICS now offers more than 76000 products on its website. The new product line is expected to grow in number of product types, as more and more manufacturers are joining the company. There are reasons to believe so, since photodetectors are present in a huge variety of devices used in commerce, industry, entertainment and research. In fact, the field of photodetector design and use has grown to the point that the industry is getting more and more specialized.
This step forward aims to accomplish MEETOPTICS’ goal: building an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven platform that helps engineers and researchers in the optics and photonics industry access and compare products and technologies from trusted manufacturers.
Up-to-date optics and photonics database
With MEETOPTICS’ comprehensive, up-to-date database, users can quickly discover specialized suppliers and available products in minutes instead of weeks. Photonics-tech manufacturers have a direct channel to customers at the moment of purchase and can showcase updated technical capabilities without investing resources.
The optics and photonics industry serves an immense, $2 trillion market and it’s rapidly growing year over year. High-tech applications like autonomous driving, laser surgery, medical imaging, and quantum technologies have optical systems that need to be designed and manufactured, yet necessary information is scattered and massive supply chain challenges hinder development. It can take engineers and researchers months to find specialized, trusted suppliers. They must manually compare, one by one, an exceptionally high volume of products, for instance, 11,000 lenses, with many technical specifications (more than 30 specifications for each optics part), and deal with scarcity in the known supply chain. The more specialized a product, the more difficult it is to find, leading to time delays and sub-optimal solutions. The AI-powered MEETOPTICS database is the most comprehensive and up-to-date optics and photonics database, saving time and,in turn, speeding development.
