Low-Cost Multispectral Cameras Flying onto the Market: Introducing the Monarch Series for Multispectral Detection Right from Your Phone

NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS-- Bodkin Design & Engineering is introducing the Monarch II, a low-cost multispectral camera, to the North American Market. These cameras are the newest and most affordable multispectral options available. Weighing only 30 grams, it can be operated from an iPhone or Android. Suitable for a variety of applications: agriculture, food, and industrial sorting to name a few, these sensors are the perfect addition for manufacturers looking for a spectral option.

The Monarch II is a near-infrared camera integrated with Unispectral’s proprietary tunable Fabry–Pérot filter (μFPF). This small multispectral imager has a spectral range of 705-920nm and a field of view of 31.5° x 25.5°. With up to 10 selectable spectral bands, there are customizable options to match the application’s needs. It is available as a module to embed into mobile or static designs. EVK is the Monarch II with a protective case and full DLL, API, SDK, and GUI included for developers.

Since these sensors already have onboard processing, quick connectivity, and user-friendly API, they can integrate seamlessly with machine control systems, robotics, and manufacturing lines. The size also allows them to be easily attached to various devices including microscopes, UAVs, and industrial equipment with tripod and magnet mounting options. Available with perClass Mira, a software that classifies and detects underlying information. Images can be sent to the cloud and displayed on a Windows PC or Linux for further analysis.
