Optica Announces Results of 2021 Election   

We are pleased to announce that Gerd Leuchs, Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Germany, was elected by Optica members to serve as the society's 2022 Vice President. His four-year commitment to Optica's Board of Directors consists of serving one year as vice president in 2022, followed by one year as president-elect in 2023, president in 2024 and past president in 2025.

Members also elected Judith Dawes, Macquarie University, Australia, to serve as a director-at-large on the Board of Directors for the 2022-2024 term. Leuchs and Dawes will begin their terms on 01 January 2022. Read the press release from Optica and see below for additional information on the new Board members.  

The election results were announced at Optica's Annual Business Meeting during the all-virtual 2021 Frontiers in Optics and Laser Science (FiO LS) conference held 01-04 November.
